Gasoline prices by state and region
Regular gasoline averaged $4.32 a gallon across the United States in the week of September 14, 2026, up 16¢ on the week before and up 115¢ on a year ago. The figures are the U.S. Energy Information Administration’s weekly pump survey, taken each Monday and published the same evening.
EIA publishes its own weekly series for 9 states and ten cities; every other state is covered by the district EIA files it under, and its page says so. A PADD is a Petroleum Administration for Defense District, one of the five regions (the East Coast split in three) EIA has grouped fuel statistics by since 1942.
