The price is the U.S. Energy Information Administration’s weekly retail survey of regular gasoline, all formulations, dollars per gallon including taxes, collected each Monday. A year-ago figure is the survey week fifty-two weeks earlier. EIA data are in the public domain. A PADD is a Petroleum Administration for Defense District, one of the five regions (the East Coast split in three) EIA has grouped fuel statistics by since 1942.
